Bay of Kakome
An ex-military outpost with a private beach that has a fine white sand and gravel, the variation of blue sea and the surrounding greenery make it a true paradise.
It is located on the Ionian Coast, west of the village of Nivica, between cape of Qefali and Akroriza beach. is one of the quietest beaches along the coast, it can be accessed by car, but it is more beautiful by boat. Here lies the sandy beach of Kakome, one of the most beautiful stretches of unspoilt beach that can be found on the Albanian coast, although there were projects from some companies to build a resort on this amazing natural landscape but with the help of the villagers of Nivica, protest managed to successfully put away any plan.
The beach has a stretch of 1 kilometre of sand with a small port at the middle of it. The bay used to be home to an army base and access might be limited during some periods. It has a fine white sand and gravel; the variation of blue sea and the surrounding greenery make it a true paradise.
There are no cafes or restaurants here that’s why you must be prepared if you choose to visit this beach. Take a lot of water with you.
To visit this beach, follow the national road that leads from Saranda to the village of Nivice. After a couple of kilometers you'll notice a sign pointing to your left Kakome Bay. Take that road and it will take you to the magnificent bay of Kakome. You can follow the path on Google Maps here.
