For a visitor or a tourist, native or foreign, the acknowledgment of Himara, as such a beautiful province, only starts when you see it with your own eyes, when walking in the narrow stone paths of these Mediterranean villages and when you begin to explore every inch of this sacred strip of land.

History

You will learn that Himara has been the land of the Chaons an Epirot tribe, has been inhabited for 3000 years and has never been abandoned by its inhabitants.

Language

The Chaonians, today Himariots, Hellenized in culture, education, development, civilization still retain the language and the ancient dialect used 2500 years ago.
